In Reply To: Thank you for your advice! I really appreciate it. I didn't find the first position through university career services -- worse, I was hired by a mentor of mine who happens to be the hiring partner. He gave me an offer before I started seriously looking for jobs. I love the culture, the work, and the people at McK way more than the first place. But integrity and commitment are very important to me. I just don't know how much would sticking to these vaules cost me in the long run. Maybe I'll never be able to work in strategy consulting after taking on that different path... Or, maybe it's not that bad? What do you guys think?
Message: wouldn't burning bridges and ruining one's professional reputation be a horrible thing to do? especially when i owe my mentor so much already and can't possibly repay his kindness (for many things unrelated to the job itself)?
