In Reply To: My friend works at McK in Sydney, Australia. She said that exceptional knowledge in SAP was required for her role. I'm not sur eif this is the same case as in Europe, but maybe ask around? Also, if it's not too much trouble, would you mind if I have a look at your cover letter? I'm really stuck for examples, but have written why I'd like to work for McK so far. Thanks, D
Message: In almost 5 years at McK, I had exactly 1 study when a BA on my team had to get somewhat familiar with SAP, and this was only because the client used SAP extensively for data management; so, the most efficient way for us to get access to that data was for her to get sufficiently comfortable with the program to be able to extract data from their computers - and then crunch it in Excel. I've never heard of any McK consultant actually having SAP installed on their own laptop (which isn't to say it has never happened, of course). To the original poster, I will repeat the advice I have given so many people in your position: RELAX! You will have ample opportunity to learn what you need to know on the job. Assuming you are graduating this spring, consider taking the summer off to do all the things you won't have time to do once you start at McK: travel (for fun), read leisure books, spend time outdoors. (I suppose the one thing that couldn't hurt is that if you are _completely_ unfamiliar with Excel (no idea how to filter lists, build pivot tables, etc.), you may wish to do a bit of prep work along those lines. There's another thread in here that recommends some books for that. Congratulations on your offer and best of luck!
