One of my buddies has a 3.98 at W, and founded his own RE investment firm where he executed due diligence and deal structuring on $65 million of bulk condominium purchases. I signed my full time offer with the firm and am currently working part time for this guy; top negotiator, builds models before breakfast, and writes the excellent memo's.
No McKinsey summer analyst slot for this guy. Who in heaven fills those 60 slots? |

60 summer slots?
At Stanford, where I interviewed for a Summer BA position, they said they are hiring 1-2 ppl per office from stanford (and i think they are recruiting a 2-3 offices) and only targeting maybe 4 or 5 schools. Unless they are hiring a lot more summer BA's at those offices, 60 seems a bit high.
But I still agree with your main point, that guy should've gotten an interview. Frankly, the people I know who got summer BA interviews didn't seem up to par (myself included).
