Hey, Insiders and outsides, I'd like to hear some advice from you!
Currently I'm starting 4th year in a top 5 neuroscience Ph.D program which is one of the core recruiting campus for McK associate. Since it's still at least 2 years more for my graduation, I got an BA offer from McKinsey, which means I would quit my Ph.D program and start right now with Master degree. It's kind of hard for me to decide BA McKinsey v.s Ph.D.
With BA McKinsey, I can get 2-3 years working experience and then go on with B-School or Law-School. But I have already invested 3 plus years into my Ph.D and I may get into Associate directly 2 years later, but the drawback is that I don't like the bench work and it'll be hard for me to stand two years boring lab work.
I'm highly appreciated if some one can offer me some insight regarding what is more valuable for future career development. Working experience in McKinsey v.s a Ph.D?
Thanks in advance!!!

Hi everyone,
I was not really looking at McKinsey, but my "phd or work" search got this thread.
I am a 5th year phd student at UC Irvine doing computer science (networking + systems) and I felt that I had had enough of research too... but after reading this whole thread I think I will stick it out another year or two (typically 7 years here).
I just thought I'd say thanks! :)

ps> I am REALLY REALLY impressed by the culture of your company and how you guys seem to really be supportive... I'll definitely look up McKinsey in my job hunting - prolly in a year or so when I get my phd!
