I am an Ops practice offeree - shall start working this fall as a "generalist" Ops associate.
While the process is largely similar to the generalist hiring, there are few differences - partners who interview you are from Ops and some cases have more Ops taste to them.
Also be ready to be drilled on why you want Ops, do you have the relevant background etc etc.

Although this is a more specific role than a Operations Associate, it might still be of interest:
The OMC is like McKinsey's "Applied Operations Research" group. You directly apply to the OMC BA program (vs the generalist BA position) and go through interviews accordingly. It's a more specific role than a OPS Generalist.
