In Reply To: Hi everyone, I am an undergrad still in the planning stage of a possible consulting career. I live about 3.5 hours from San Francisco (Reno, NV). I have some travel issues about moving to the bay area and I was wondering if anyone knows of Business Analysts or consultants that commute long distance successfully? Thanks.
Message: Its tricky but do-able if you are willing to spend at least 2-3 Fridays a month in SF. I know people who make it work, although usually they are a bit more senior. If you are staffed out of town, McK will pay for your flights from Reno, and for your hotels. However, if you are staffed in town you will need to get your own accomodation in SF. Obviously you can push for out of town studies, but it means you don't bond as much with your home office. Depending on your personal situation you could move to SF, and then once or twice a month have McK fly you back to Reno rather than SF for the weekend.
