I will begin my MBA in the Fall, most likely at chicago or harvard, and would like to know which program would give me the upper edge for a career in consulting. Also, I was curious - if hired into the same office are the job offers identical for both schools or are harvard grads paid more than chicago grads? I desire to work Europe and would need to decide if Chicago's ability to study abroad (and recruit abroad) outweigh the "harvard" name.
Thanks for any insight

Job offers are generally the same for all incoming associates, regardless of the school they are coming from.
As far as I understand, McKinsey hires very significant numbers from Harvard. Chicago I am not sure. Sometimes this type of data is made public by the school's career services office. In Europe the firm hires a significant number from INSEAD in Paris which is their nr. 1 school there.
I think either way you can do the first round on campus and might possibly have to fly out to the European office of your choice for final round interviews with the local partners.
HBS03 might be familiar with this process and be able to tell you more.
