You may want to hone down more in the interaction you had with the team leader. According to your story, you showed him some facts and summarized some info, but was that really enough to convince him?
You'll have to talk more specifically about how you were able to convince him by other means than just "facts based" reasoning. |

I really appreciate the input..
How about this as an addition in the middle or so..
'Other than facts and summaries', i took the time to illustrate the benefits of my approach to the team memebers in order to have everyone on track and gained positive feedback from the memebers. In addition, i explained the following to the team leader: "In order for our project to get recognition and in order for our report to be of value to the reader which is one of our top goals as we both know, putting grades aside, we have to put every effort in making this project a success. Using (Strategy A - Team leader startegy) is an excellent approach [being diplomatic (wrong?)]. However, we both know that half our class will use (strategy A-Team leader) and as i mentioned we need originality to gain recognition thus reach our goals. Lets look into the process vs outcome of (Strategy B My key points) and lets discuss it and discuss its pros and cons." After discussing it as a team we all agreed including the team leader that we should use (Strategy B My key points). Taking the lead was very important because we were on the wrong track. Before taking the lead , i used the feedback from my teammates as support to my judgement of the issue. However, i managed to do it professionally and indirectly in order to respect the team leader's role.
It was very important to get the job done right and with flying colors a goal we all were aware of.
Would realy appreciate your feedback.
Thanks again for your time, I truly appreciate it.
