In Reply To: I've posted this question before but didn't get any responses so far, so i'll just give it one more try... While skimming through this message board it struck me that so many of you have posted messages on background checks in the US, which appear to be quite thorough. I'm living in the UK but cannot imagine that background checks are as tough in Europe as in the US. I can hardly imagine that European universities are allowed to disclose grades, for example. Does anyone have experience with background checks in Europe? Thanks for your input...
Message: I *reckon* that most (European) offices will just give a phone call / send an email to your previous employers / university and ask for a confirmation that you actually were employed / you got the diploma you mention on your CV (with the relevant dates). Sometimes, especially for a first job, you can be asked to provide a (certified) of your diploma(s) upon joining. Again, this is likely to vary by country. Hope it helps, s.
