1) Resuirements less strict to be hired "directly as AP" than to be hired "directly as principal";
2) No such thing as "junior partner"; partners are principals (early tenure then higher tenure) and directors (tenuring and then fully tenured);
3) Total compensation for associate principal is in the range you mention. Then, at the end of the year there is additional award. This can be a low as 0 percent and as high as "less than 100 percent". Assume 35 percent for a principal, half that for an associate principal.

I dont get this additional award stuff - this is an additional 30% on top of base pay and bonus? WOW!
Secondly how different is this recruitment to Assoc. Proncipal different at firms like bcg, bain etc.?
