Both are great schools. You can't go wrong with either.
Go to HBS if you want to larger global network.
Go to Stanford if you want better weather.
Go to HBS if you want better snob appeal in the general public.
Go to Stanford if you want snob appeal in the MBA crowd (because statistically, it is the most selective with roughly the same number applying to both Stanford and HBS, but with Stanford's class at half the size).
Go to Stanford if you have a particular interest in the West Coast.
HBS if you have an East Cost interest.
In terms of culture and feel, I think HBS and Stanford are both similar. Tons of great people, a few duds. Grade nondisclosure (for now), so school can be as hard or as relatively easy as you want it to be.
I'll comment that my McK office mate and his wife went to Stanford. He's a great guy. So, from my sample set of two, I'd give it thumbs up. I had a blast at HBS. So, if you are lucky enough to get into both, go to the admitted student weekends, and see what school you feel more at home at. |

What impact do you think the change to the disclosure policy will have on the schools culture?
Thanks
