In Reply To: To stanfordbiz = whartonkid = BCG_baby: Get a life, and stop your deceitful posturing. Folks here at McK board can see right through you. Stop mopping over your failed attempt at McKinsey and your idiotic attempt at rationalizing your 2nd tier consulting experience is some how equal to McK. I don't think you know this but writing style, syntax, use of acronyms, arrogance, deceitfulness for all of your three characters are the same. It is clear what your intentions are. I know that you didn't get an offer from McK or from B/BCG and probably worked in 2nd tier consulting if at all. You said, ??And those that don't get an offer for Mck, it's mainly because of very small/fluke differences in case performance.?? This is entirely not correct. In the final rounds, the applicants?? fit, and his/her soft qualities (teamwork, leadership, interpersonal skills, impact) are more important than acing business cases. Try to be little bit more creative with your user logins. You seem to follow this general pattern for all of your characters: (name-of-institution)(noun). There were only two posts that initiated mentioning of Kennedy report and put it in a favorable light in all of the message boards. First was from whartonkid and second was from stanfordbiz. For other board readers: I don??t have time to list all my observations that led me to conclude stanfordbiz = whartonkid = BCG_baby. Below you will find posts from stanfordbiz and wharton kid. You??ll notice similarities in writing style, position/views, specific words used (noted with ***), etc. ---- CURRENT TREAD, Title: Not comparable Author: stanfordbiz Date: Dec 29, 2005 9:57 AM EST I don't know much about the MC industry, but gotta side with Whartonkidd on this one. Choosing H/W is not the same type of herd behavior as seen in the flock of ***b-school*** students chasing after mck... somebody posted on this board awhile ago some Kennedy Report that ***polled c-level execs*** on their perceptions of all the firms. According to that admittedly flawed report, mck isn't has hot as it thinks. Again, this report isn't perfect, but it's all we have to rank firms (not including Vault, which polls consultants -- same herding problem). --- Management and Strategy Consulting Board Maybe not, 145. Firm Rankings Author: whartonkid Date: Sep 12, 2005 5:51 PM EST And the Kennedy Report, for all its flaws, is more reliable than anecdotal/anonymous posts on the Vault Board, or the number of people who attend the info sessions at **b-school***. --- Management and Strategy Consulting Board 43. McKinsey or BCG Doesn't Matter Author: whartonkid Date: Nov 24, 2005 12:58 PM EST In fact, the one objective measure of consulting firm quality i know of comes from the Kennedy Report, which ***polls c-level execs*** on their perceptions of consulting firms. The 2003 report was interesting -- the old "m/b/b" ranking did not hold on several dimensions --- I??ve wondered where BCB_baby went after dropping his little fart bomb. --- McKinsey Board, 8. pathetic ??that's what McK is?? Author: BCG_baby Date: Dec 22, 2005 12:47 AM EST McK thinks it's so great, but it's really not. BCG DEMOLISHES McK in all relevent statistics. McK can't hold a candle to BCG. McK makes me sick.
Message: I think whartonkid is more of a moron than you do! And I don't even know who bcgbaby is. I'm not defending whartonkidd or ANY MC firm. But the big difference between mck and b/b/bah/m/d/d/w/fcu/whatever is that mck people THINK they're so special. The associates at other firms have a little more humility and see their firm for what it is: a good, decent-paying job that hones skills learned in bschool and provides some springboard to line mgmt positions or PE/VC. But I must say, you really are a very sad person. I now understand why mck is so important to you. It's ALL you have going for you! Your entire existence/value rests on working for some consulting firm. It's a *consulting firm*, dude! You're not curing cancer. But that's why you're so defensive when others challenge your perceptions and assumptions. Because, if you realize that mck isn't as wonderful as you thought, then that means YOU really suck, b/c that's all you have in your life. I really do hope you find other sources of meaning in your life, because mck, though a great firm, is sort of a pathetic thing to have your entire life revolve around.
