In Reply To: Now you're getting on my nerves. You have absolutely ZERO clue to what you are talking about. There were only two rounds for MBA applicants (at least the top schools). I have done a sanity check, and I know that the number of offers from top school are OVER FIFTY ON AVERAGE. I don't care if "it makes sense", those are the facts. As a consultant, you should be doing your due diligence and look up how many offers came from McK at each of the top five schools. And there is a big difference from "top 5" and "top 15" schools. You do a sanity check. Fifty offers per school doesn't translate to a "1-3%" rate. And as I told you before, most everyone from a top school gets interviewed by McK if they so desire. Shut your trap and stop mouthing off as if you have any clue to how the MBA process works. You said you interviewed only a few months ago, so you don't have the right or tenure to talk down to anyone else. You're only going off of "what you heard from the grapevines" and have no exposure to the process. Stop putting a bad light on your firm. They were gracious enough to give you the benefit of the doubt.
Message: You said you don't work for McK. Why don't you "shut your trap and mouthing off" as you put it when it comes my McK interview experience which had applicants mostly from Wharton and HBS with 7 interview sessions, 3 rounds. "I have done a sanity check, and I know that the number of offers from top school are OVER FIFTY ON AVERAGE." Well then, logical conclusion for me is that you are insane but I'm pretty sure you are not. 'FIFTY' offers at top 5 MBA schools is not 30% 'offer rates' as your analysis concluded. For example, Wharton 2nd year population is ~ 800 and number of McK offers in 2003 was ~50. So McK success rate was ~6% at Wharton in 2003 (assumes all offers are accepted) http://bwnt.businessweek.com/recruiting/index.asp?r=0 Last note: I was little bit edgy on the last post and also on this due to my annoyance with Whartonkid.
