I am in the same position, and would be interested to see this article, if anyone has a reference.

Regarding the first issue, I am considering joining one of the new offices. I asked one of the partners about this, i.e. how would the influx of new people into a new office affect the culture and the apprentice-like environment for associates (I mean the old model of learning a trade, not the TV show). She said that this was something that they considered closely, and that they combine recruitment of new associates with transfers of experienced people from older offices to maintain the culture.

The article you mention was in "Consultant News" of November 2005 and it runs on two pages. It has been widely circulated in the Firm, although not "officialy".
