In Reply To: but you do get a laptop, cell phone(or atleast paid for), blackberry, Verizon broadband (if you are willing to take the contract).. pretty good hotels (Westin, Ritz and the likes). Caveat - if you are stuck in the middle of Kentucky, all you might have is a Holiday Inn Express.
Message: What I heard is the "perk package" for US new hires is: - Laptop (of course) - Blackberry, with "data-only" subscription - Mobile phone for business purposes are reimbursed (so one has to ake an expense report on a regular basis = I think that's lame...) - Dental, Health insurance, travel insurance, and the like I never heard of broadband being paid for, but maybe that depends on the location (I don't know the US telecom system that well but I think that Verizon BB is not available everywhere). Oh.... Last thing: the real perk is that the laptop and the blackberry has an "Power Off" button you can use at night and weekends if you want to. ;o) s.
