Got dinged in round 3 for APD, feedback from principal indicated a significant misunderstanding of the way performance is measured in my current profession. He recommended that I reapply in 2 years. Since the ding (as he described it) was based mostly on a misunderstanding, can I reapply in one year? Or will an application at that point not be taken seriously, given the principal's recommendation? He said they really liked me and debated whether or not to hire me for a long time, and strongly encouraged me to reapply......but I'll be entrenched in another job in two years, so it's either reapply in a year, or not at all. Thanks for any insight anyone can give! |

APD candidates are not required to have prior experience. Did you apply as an experienced professional? What exactly was the ??misunderstanding?? about? Back office job in an organization that is known for its front-office work? How will continued experience in the same line of work remedy that gap?
Also, "reapply in two years" is a guideline. If you can demonstrate that you have addressed the gaps in 1-1.5 yrs, you may reapply. Then again, depending on the nature of the gaps, you may need 2+ years.
