I believe they're assessing too. Although what they can get from it, I don't know....
It's actually a fun exercise, if the people with you are good.
The facilitators did a great job of managing the sessions, asking individuals for opinions etc. This works in your favor if you have a good .02c to add. If not, you're left feeling like the guy passing notes at the back of the class suddenly asked a random question.
