Thank you for the link.
I was interested because I had an interview with Parthenon this Wednesday (Bain, McKinsey, and Monitor are also on my list) and I thought it would be useful to know/remember/use 5C and 3/4P model in my case studies. |

i have read many case prep materials and almost all of them do not advise on using this model to crack a case
the reason for this is simply that porter's doesn't leverage the useful information as well or efficiently as say a simple 3 c model where you structure the problem in terms of
-cost
-competitors
-customers
or even more simply just a revenue and expense angle to address profitability issues
it's good to know porters but i suspect your opportunities to effectively apply the model in a case will be quite limited..i would suggest not having your heart set on using it but if a case lends itself to the structure and you have the time and information to set it up properly then go for it
how have your interviews gone thus far?
