The problem is that i do not want to work in the retail company. Getting a job there would not be a problem. I would like to work in companies like KPMG or specialised I-bank that deal with retail companies.....
What area do u look after?? what is your specialisation. Just to understand the industry a bit more are there any sites I could go onto to understand what exactly does i-banking means??? |

I mean, as you watch the retail companies for deals, you will also see some names mentioned for some of the poeple making the deals for the retial companies...if you see "woolworths buys small london based chain"....you will also see "deal was handled by goldman sachs" from who "john smith commented the following" you watch the deals for more names to contact and show interest with..rather then to actually look at the retail companies...forgive my spelling above it's late.....
personally i work for a major us based bank outside of the investment banking and consulting worlds more into working w/ the guys who handle the bank's portfolio.\\\
books on what what invesmtent bankers actually do, i wish i could tell you i have just heard of monkey business like every other person onthis board....i think reading on this gives you more of a flavor than anything else.
