Given all the umemployment for MBAs these days, it appears very unlikely that anyone is going to get hired by a strategy consulting firm unless they are Wharton/Harvard/Stanford.

The consulting industry has been in its worst recession yet so they are hardly recruiting anybody and also being very picky.
In the current environment, a long rolodex of senior contacts and credible sales experience is probably the best door opener
