Thanks for the input. I'm definitely seeing both sides of Accenture. The full-on coding as well as the availability to work on the S&BA side. Anything else people have to say? It can be from Accenturites too. |

I'm 26, and I just recently took a job to get out of IT and Consulting in general.
I went to work for Ernst&Young (now capgemini) right out of school. Accenture and the rest of the Big 5 or 4 or whatever the hell is left after mergers and name changes is all a bunch of smoke and mirrors bullshit. They add no value and IT Consulting has no future. The tech bubble has busted, enterprise software implementations are on a decline, and clients are a lot smarter.
Accenture is brainwashing...from Associate partner all the way down to receptionists. If you want to do consulting, I would recommend applying to Bain or the Boston Consulting Group. If you are a computer science major, love technology, don't mind traveling, and are excited by testing writing and testing business software...IT Consulting is your paradise!
Cheers
fyi- i've made the jump to finance
