That pun is too clever.
I think I do remember you from school. You were the guy that really wasn't exceptional in any way. You were an average student, an average athlete, a handful of people liked you, a handful of people disliked you, and most people had no clue as to who you were. And the problem that mediocre people like you find in the world is that you're not talented enough to find yourself wanted or marketable in any arena, be it professional, social, personal, etc. Slightly more painful than that is the realization that you are part of the faceless mass that can only hope for a few laughs, such as a night or two out in Vegas on your honeymoon or a Carnival Cruise, and to then die. Maybe you'll even end this world debt free, and leave your kids a couple of grand and the fifteen year-old projection TV they found you rotting in front of.
I'm sure you've learned how to handle that disappointment early on. The real problem that you face is that you aren't dumb enough to ignore the bone crushing tedium of your life, your job, and your friends. You aren't sufficiently stupid to enjoy any of the simple pleasures and institutions of goodwill put in place by society to coddle the challenged individuals among us. In some ways, I'm impressed that you find the energy to wake up every morning, draw breath, and trudge to your job, whatever that may be. I'm impressed that you find the will to drive home to your plain wife and plain house (if you have either) instead of finding the nearest highway overpass and tagging the median support with your Kia. Maybe this will take care of itself after one or two surplus cans of Schlitz on your Friday night out with the boys at the local 99. I'm hoping for you buddy, I really am.
