I will be a sophomore this year that is majoring in Finance and probably minoring in Math and I am required to study abroad for a summer or a semester to fill the requirements of one of my scholarships. I am considering going to London or Germany. If I went to Germany it would be a good chance to start a language and continue it when I get back and go for a minor in German. That would put me near-proficient in German. Are language skills such as this, even if they might not apply to the job, viewed as valuable to a recruiter? Or am I better off using the credits I would have used for the minor in German to pursue a double major in accounting instead? I ask because while reading through the resumes of MBA students I see a lot of secondary language skills. Thanks.
