Message: This is a rather broad question about several industries, but I'd appreciate it if someone can teach me... Let's say there's a manufacturing company, like Sony or Ford. What role does each of the following instututions play in relationship with that company? -a commercial bank (Wells Fargo, Bank of America...) -an investment bank (Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs...) -a consluting firm (Accenture, Braxton...) -an accounting firm (PriceWaterhouse, Ernest&Young...) Usually, does a manufacturer work with all of these types of firms, or just some? Are there any overlaps in the services offered? Like, do the corporate finance agents of an investment bank offer similar services as those of a commercial bank? Similarly, do consultants, accountants, and investment bankers all offer corporate-strategy consulting? If so, do manufacturers usually work with all of them, or just one?
