a former college roomate got BCG with a 2.5 undergrad GPA from a state university better known for basketball than academics (we both went there). It matters 1000% more what you did after college and at your MBA. |

Your roommate must have been the son of a client's CEO. There is no official cutoff, but below 3.5 and you're in for a rougher time. You can round your 3.48 to 3.5. Of course, good work experience or leadership can make the GPA seem less important. And it doesn't matter after you get on the closed list.
