All,
As a newbie to this board, I would welcome all constructive comments for my questions. I have noticed that it seems like that many of the people's backgrounds here are from prestigous top tier business schools?
Is there anyone that went to a "normal" business school (i.e. NOT top-tier) business school out there. I actually worked while I got my MBA and went to the University of Phoenix, Cleveland Campus. My BA was in Psychology from an average state school in Ohio.
I graduated a year ago and I am looking to get into either management or web consulting considering I had an ebusiness concentration in my MBA program. I have 3+ years in the manufacturing, internet advertising, and consulting industries with a contract assignment at Ernst and Young. My questions are the following:
-how should I custom tailor my resume for the best results?
-is consulting a bad industry to get into right now? I have heard it is really bad from the economy.
-how does someone who is not entry level but does not have a lot of experience position themself?
-is there a "hidden job market" where I should look?
-does anyone know of anyone hiring right now?
I am working as a contractor purchasing IT hardware and software right now in the midwest but I am open to relocaction and want a career oriented position.
Thanks,
Jon |

you need to decide what you want to do before sending your resume off. What? Management or web consultancy?
