Hi everyone,
I got an offer for UCLA's MBA program with a 2/3 scholarship. However, my career ambition post-MBA is an associate position at a top tier management consulting firm when I get out. Will UCLA work for me, or do I need to decline and apply to some better schools?
I really want that associate position at a McK or a DC. Should I try to ace my way through UCLA and not worry about getting into a more prestigious school?; or should I get my game up and re-apply to a top 5?
What do you think? Anybody been there? Thanks!!
PS. My stats: Good work experience[business analyst 4 years, non-profit manager 1 year, all small companies], good undergrad (3.4, with Honors), okay references (should have coached them more), lowish GMAT (680). )(Predictably) dinged at Harvard, waitlisted (inexplicably) at Stern.

...it is more about how much horsepower you have than what school you went to. Could be good or bad news, depending on how much of a stud you are. Practice some cases and get some feedback on how skilled you are. At the end of the days, McK and BCG can be pretty snotty about wanting brains...
