Based on some of what I've been hearing recently, even people currently employed at the Big 3 (M/B/B) want to quit for a number of reasons, especially because the nature of the work is basically boring now. either really short boring research projects or no projects at all.
Would anyone else like to confirm or disagree with this? (preferably someone who is working at one of these firms or has the inside scoop?) What's going on? If this is true, why are people still working so hard to get these jobs? Isn't it a waste of time these days? |

Many firms downsized, slashed hiring, reduced retention incentives and encouraged attrition.
Of course, to those who are left it seems that things are busier.
And that may be true to a small degree, from the perspective of an insider in a lean organization. But please, don't confuse that with real bounceback in the economy. That will not be happening until Q3 at the earliest, and probably not until 2004.
