IB Internship in Asia |

I received an internship offer from a major IB firm in a large non-English speaking country in Asia for this summer. (Sorry I cannot actually name them, but it would be too obvious if I did.)
But what I really want to do after graduation is working for a strategic consulting firm in America. The reason why I picked IB is because there weren't any consulting firms that were hiring interns, so I just took the next best option to get some business experience.
My question is, how should I convince the consulting firms' in the U.S. that I'm capable to do jobs there better than other American candidates who apply for the same position? Is an internship in non-English speaking country as credible as the one in, say, NY?
I go to a major university in Northeast, and my GPA is ok, but not the best. If you could give me any advice, it would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much.
