in terms of corporate finace and M&A work. Ibankers seem to get all the prestige, but how do consultants advise on ipos or mergers, is it similar to ibankers, with the scorching hours and pitchbooks. I am very interested in mergers and acquisitions and i am wondering if management consulting offers similar benefits as IB in terms of exit opportunites, business school, and all but not least money |

I think Consultants have an advantage in doing Corp Fin work. They can do the strategy portion. In addition, a lot of the M&A work is useful only if the synergies (cost reduction, etc.) exist with the target. Consultants are beyyer able to do this.
My thoughts are more to trigger a debate. Any thoughts on this?
