I work for a big 5 consulting firm. I was promoted to Manager from Consultant. Had been rated exceptional (top 5% in the firm) for last 2 years. I received no base pay raise. In fact I lost my overtime. I am eligible for "Variable Pay" which even if I recieve the highest award will not make up for my loss of OT. My base pay is also 25k less now than comparable managers sitting across the office from me. What are you going to do? Leave if you find something better. Not many other options. It's a great way to kill initiative within the company however. |

Sorry to hear that, Spaceboy, but we've worked for the same firm and I tell you it's going to get worse.
In my office, all non-tech managers were saked, consultants were promoted w/out pay raise, lost their VP, got more responsibility, and are completely lost.
I regularly meet my former team and the guy who took over after I got fired said he is totally frustrated. He pushed hard for a promotion and now he regrets.
Welcome to paradise!
