Hi everybody
I'm an undergrad and just got entry-level offers from the Real Estate
practice of Blackstone and the Munich-based office of McK. I'm not sure
yet which one to choose. Any comment or suggestions would be greatly
appreciated on the following topics:
- comparative working atmosphere
- comparative job content /interest (also, do you think it is possible to
pull out of real estate after Blackstone's 2-year analyst program ?)
- comparative working hours.
Thanks a lot for your help |

What do you want to do with your life?
Both are very good firms so congratulations. The Blackstone job will allow you to build specialized knowledge right away, while the McKinsey job will give you a wider range of options.
If you already know that you want a career in finance, go with Blackstone. I think that it is reasonable that you could "pull out" of real estate, but you may find that your resume pulls you toward future finance positions. Otherwise, go with McKinsey.
Also, which location would you like to be in? I am assuming that Blackstone is NYC.
