thanks for the advice, but it sounds like your friend was a special case. I am by no means a brilliant software developer...
also i don't want to rely on impressing a bigshot.
It'd be great if that stuff happened, but I'm trying to take a more structured approach. I think a lot of people go to Silicon Valley and end up stuck in coding jobs that don't go anywhere, until the next bubble bursts and they get laid off. |

I'm about to get my engineering degree in France and just got an internship at Accenture. I hope this internship will give me a more precise insight of IT consultancy, though most posts on Vault aren't very optimistic, a feeling I can understand considering the hard life consultants seem to have !
Anyhow, I'm also trying to build something of a career, hoping that working in consultancy for some years and then following an MBA course could make my path to upper management in industry (or elsewhere) easier. My hopes, rather teared down by posts on vault :-P, seem pretty similar to yours ilar. I'm wondering if other people with similar background have felt the same kind of feelings younger and how they got through.
