In Reply To: You consider 34 to be old, many firms have an average age of 37-38. My MBA program had an average age of 33-34, its just some of the american programs don't place value on life experience. I am Canadian and went to a school in Europe.
Message: We seem to have the same problem (if it really is one). I'm 33 and I finished MBA 3 years ago, in Europe, too for I live here (I've never even been to USA, by the way). I have been seriously considering going overseas to join some nice top consulting firm but I gather from what you've said it's far too late for me. Is it? Don't worry, Consultant 34, in Europe you might already encounter similar obstacles with age or look. For me it's might be a proof only that those top "hyperprofessional" consulting firms do not need really good and experienced people, just little wolves hungry for success to command. DONT YOU SOMETIMES HAVE THE IMPRESSION THAT THIS WHOLE CONSULTING TOP BUSINESS IS JUST A BIG COLOURFUL BLURB WITH NOTHING INSIDE?
