In Reply To: All that personality stuff doesnt count for much. They want good grades (outstanding academic qualifications, as it says on their website).
Message: but are not essential. I know people working for top firms with very mediocre grades (i.e. 2ii or 3rd) and I know people with first class academics who have been sent packing soon after joining a top firm. As I said before, if you are geek with no commercial nouse you will not last long in consultancy. And if you think personality doesn't count for much - think again. If you can't comfotably deal with clients and reassure them etc (and show that you have the ability to develop and eventually sell consultancy projects) how are you ever going to be a successful consultant.
