I recently decided to accept an offer from a mid-sized pure strat firm. The start date is in late September, but I have the option of deferring until January 2003.
Does anyone have any insight into the implications of deferring an offer for a couple of months? What are the risks? In real terms, how much will this 2.5-3 month delay put me behind my class? Would this sort of move be viewed negatively, or would it help me by setting me apart from the crowd (i.e., I'm the new guy, the guy who just started, etc.)? Anything else I should consider?
Anyone with advice as to whether or not I should defer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
