Do you mean strong technical skills as in computer and quant skills? Since you're with the Big 4, do your hiring preferences differ from the big strategy firms (BCG, McK, etc.)? How do accounting skills fall on your radar? I ask because I am majoring in Econ and Accounting. |

Yes. I was talking about skills such as programming and design of custom software.
I know that we are actually recruiting and hiring this year. Last year all recruiting was halted and we picked up only a very few to meet certain needs.
From my limited viewpoint, it seems like it really depends on the business sector of the city you are being recuited by. If you are going into a sector where most of the work is package implementation, then they would be much more willing to look at majors outside of MIS or CS.
We seem to do very little pure strategy work. I don't know what the hiring preferences of McK etc. are. I was never interested in working at a strat firm and never applied to one.
