I have never seen one go smoothly. Of course that shouldn't be a surprise since the project managers rarely have even the slightest understanding of the technology they implement. Usually they screw up promising something they can't deliver, the team has to work until midnight and then its the clients fault for being "dificult". |

Bad management -> long hours, but even well-managed cases can have long hours. The difference is that on the well-managed case, the long hours are still productive hours and you are able to overdeliver to the client.
