From what I have seen there is a typical recruiting season of the fall being when big name companies recruit for full time hires, and the spring being when big name companies recruit for interns. Not to say you can't apply, just that they (HR) probably has pulled all resumes for consulting firms, and big companies. |

The recruiting season varies by school, but for top consulting firms is typically as follows:
FULL-TIME
Sept: Resume submission & presentations
Oct-Nov: Interviews and offers made
Dec-Jan: Sell weekends
Jan-Mar: Make your decision
Jul-Nov: First start dates
INTERN
Sept: Attend the presentations with the seniors
Jan: Intern presentations (only big firms at popular schools) & resume submission
Feb: Intern interviews and decisions
Mar: Intern sell weekends and decision time
May-Jun: Internship begins
Recruiting is extremely expensive (top firms spend up to $10K in recruiting expenses per undergrad hire), and typically they can find 100X the number of people they need by working within this timeframe.
