The economy is so tight that top firms are only hiring from top-flight programs, and even then the pedigrees have to be just right. Which means that as an engineer, unless you were also a Rhodes scholar with a perfect GPA and a super nose for business, they won't take you. Which is no reflection on you at all - just the market. On the other hand, your degrees will get you far at firms with strong technical components, such as Booz Allen, Accenture, American Management Systems, SAIC, Titan, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, EDS, IBM Global Services ... the list goes on. try those - not only will you get a better response, but I imagine you'll feel more comfortable there (ie, they almost all do strategy consulting, but from a technically informed perspective, as opposed to, say, a financial perspective). |

Yeah I was beginning to wonder why isn't anyone contacting me already :-) I think I just need to refocus on the firms you mentioned.
