Message: Until I improve my contact network of consultants (it stands now at an eager 0) it seems that the only way to apply to many of these firms is on their websites (HR said that was the only way). That being the case, until/unless I establish some more potentially fruitful contact, these firms will first see me (if ever) as a printout without the benefit-of-the-doubt review possibly afforded a resume from a referal. I'm therefore trying to determine how desirable I would be to a firm as a candidate based only on the type of information I would send them in a resume/cover letter, etc., whatever they would ask for in initial contact. Would you please give me a list of the most important they would look at, in order of importance? Examples being school, type of degree, GPA, experience, or anything else you can think of? thanks, michael ps. what are the chances of someone getting an interview from this method vs a referal?
