Sorry !
Forget the numbers game - if you enjoy the work, the hours don't matter - as long as you're learning !!

Roseberry, I'm curious as to whether you see light at the end of the tunnel. Do you feel that mgt consulting (when done properly, earnestly) has a meaningful role in business or is the entire industry a dinosaur?
Also, regarding the industry's "sterile approach to recruiting," is this industry wide or are you speaking of specific firms? Would a liberal arts background (BA in Lit) guy like me have more success seeking employment in certain types of firms? I figure, like the engineer above, when I start applying there'll probably be something of the machine gun approach to my method, but I'd like to have a general direction if there are ways to clearly determine to whom I might be most appealing as a candidate. Once the interview starts it's anyone's game, but getting in the door without an obvious business pedigree, that may be another issue no?
