I have just recently started applying for strategy consulting and think that the response [or lack thereof] from the selected firms had to do something with either a) something I missed in my application/resume/cover letter b) downturn in economy. Strategy firms seem to be fairing bad. I know a friend from top 5 MBA school still looking for a job 5 months after graduation.
I can get a job in an engineering firm but don't want to work in pure engineering and applying again for consulting down the road if this is what I want to do eventually anyway.
My idealism will fade away as soon as my savings run dry though :-)
Thanks for the reply though. I know there are others in the same boat. |

dont forget the corporates themselves. with more and more MNC's setting up their own huge in-house strategic planning divisions - they are a great option to the more traditonal consulting firms.
