You might want to try some of the smaller firms. They aren't as rigid in their hiring requirements and will place more value on individual strengths. Also, in smaller firms it is sometimes easier to get exposure to senior level clients and be visible to partners. The downside is that the smaller firms often are extremely competitive and 80+ hour work weeks and Sun-Fri travel are common.

Does anyone know of any organizations that network with consultants of McKinsey or other management consulting companies? If so, are there events in South Florida, specifically, the Miami area? Well, the names of the organizations will help, I can find out about the events myself. From a classmate, I learned that there is the International Association of Management Consultants. Are there any other associations to network? I think that this will help me break in consulting, given that I will graduate next year from a top 100 school, but not Ivy League. I reside in Miami.
