i am interviewing with some consulting companies for the first time. does anyone know any good ways to prepare for case questions?
also, does anyone know any good educated questions to ask the interviewer? |

I used the material from the Vault and some from Wetfeet.com
Just read some cases to get an idea of what they ask and, if you have a friend in consulting or with some business sense, try to practice with him/her a real case (on the Vault guides there are interactive cases for example).
Also, on the McKinsey, BCG, Bain, etc. web sites you will find a lot of examples.
Work on having an organized framework and sensible questions. Learning some of the canned frameworks can help, but it's not crucial.
If you don't have an MBA, read "Competitive Strategy" from Porter, at least the first three chapters.
And sleep well the night before! Good luck.
