Hi,
Having read up quite a bit on KM..my views. I am a Grad. student and lack the experience you guys have.Hence pls excuse..
What was evident from the previous threads was we think Knowledge=Information, storage and retrieval which is a big misconception. It is the ideas, thoughts of each individual given a particular scenario. We call it "Tacit Knowledge" and not "Explicit knowledge=just Information" Why would a firm try to retain an employee if his work was just equated to processing information from a knowledge bank.I am trying to stress the fact that each individuals Beliefs/perceptions/ ideas to solve the problem is what should be captured.
Beyond Knowledge Management:Lessons from Japan is a pretty good article.
Regards,
Aditya.
