In Reply To: As far as applying to other firms, I'd love to but I've found it difficult. I should be able to apply to a few who go through my campus recruiting, but what is the best method for getting someone to take a look at my resume at McKinsey or BCG (who don't interview at Brown) or other firms for that matter? I'm pretty sure my resume is competitive enough to at least get consideration for an interview at most firms but going into an online database is just not effective. Secondly, my reason for considering an MSEE was as a hedge. It seems like a lot of people get very burnt out on consulting. With an MS, at least if I got burnt out, I might be able to work my way back into engineering (which I think is probably less stressful). I'm playing the devil's advocate here of course. I have enjoyed my exposure to consulting thus far. But I wonder: what do consultants often do after their stints in consulting (aside from go to B-School)? How easy is it to quit a strat firm (for instance) and find a new, equally interesting job? Thanks again for your help.
Message: get a real job and work for a few years. You can always do the MS or an MBA or consulting later. GEt out into the real world and pull some load for a while. Will be a good life experience just like backpacking was...
