Hi, I'm writing an article for Folio: magazine (target audience: writers and editors) on staff appreciation. In such a tough economy, you can't give out monetary benefits. So I'm looking for people to give me ideas on what has and hasn't worked for their staff, in 2-3 sentences. |

Take the time to find out what the person has done well over the past few months, then call them in for a personal thanks. Perhaps take them out for lunch if the budget will stand it.
