In Reply To: I work for a boutique consultancy in London, England, which specialises in providing Commercial Due Diligence (CDD). CDD is essentially a strategic review of an acquisition target's commercial prospects prior to a deal being completed. I am fortunate to be permitted to work in the US and EU and am now keen to try living in the USA for a bit. I have been trying to research the market for CDD in the US but I can't find many firms that are involved in it. Obviously, the large strategy houses (McKinsey, Bain, BCG & LEK) offer it. However, they only really get involved in the largest deals. The Big 4 are also active in CDD in the mid-market. However, I am keen to find a boutique specialising in CDD. Does anyone know of any home grown CDD houses in the US? Can anyone tell me about the CDD scene in the States? Is it as developed as in Europe? Who are the leading CDD firms in the States that compete in the mid-market? I am ideally interested in east coast firms but would certainly consider firms elsewhere in the states. Any help is much appreciated.
Message: I think you'll find that in the States, a company's auditor's advice counts for a lot. I think a lot of firms rely on their auditor (or their associates) to do 'CDD.' Not sure if firms this focused exist in the States. Marketing consultancies and PI firms like Kroll might do it?
