Sorry it took so long to respond-this is the first time I've logged on in 3 weeks.
Thanks for the advice, unfortunately I've been having a bitch of a time finding anything as far as internships go. I've applied for HR internships as well and nothing! I don't get it. I worked in HR for a big law firm in midtown for 6 months, so I have some experience, but still, nada!
As far as TC, let's see...I went there bc I guess I was impressed by the name, "Columbia", such mystique! Yeah right, bull! TC is another world from Columbia. Yeah, it's on 120th, 4 blocks from the main entrance and is affiliated with CU, and even my degree will read Columbia University(I've already checked into this), but it just doesn't feel right. If you care just about the name, then sure, it's worth it, and I honestly can't really complain about my professors, nor the quality, but it's the way things are run which pisses me off. TC is affiliated with CU, but doesn't have the CU $$$, bc they're independent, so the resources aren't as pretty(the buildings are over 100 years old and out dated, although I believe a huge renovation just started), but all of CU's resources are at our disposal, ie:libraries, gym, etc. I guess I'm mostly dissapointed bc I left my job to go back to school FT and I kept thinking to myself, wow, IVY league, go me! But, it's not that grand. I feel as though the Org Psych prog is neglected at times, whereas the education progs are put on pedestals. TC is ranked 4th in the country for grad schools in education, but I think that my program belongs on main campus! It'll never get there bc if it did TC would lose it's largest program and number one money maker! Lastly, don't think I hate my program- I don't. I am, just 3 months into it and am taking core classes now so that may be it too, but I'm not going to quit bc with summer classes and a full fall Ill have my MA by December and I'll also be 30K in debt (currently, credits are $710, the reason I haven't taken a class at CU Business yet is bc they're $1015 there!!!) Baruch supposedly has a solid prog(which I got into and had a helluva time deciding on whether to go, soooo cheap!)NYU also does, I guess the TC, Cu program appealed so much to me bc of the fact that it was 33 credits(I believe that has changed now)and obviously, the Ivy league thing! If you want any other info, I'd be more than happy to give it to you, I'd even give you a tour if you wanted! If you know of any consulting or HR internships, I would greatly appreciate any info. THANKS, & keep in touch

All the MBA's I know are having a tough time finding anything right now also. It's a tough market. At least you will be done about the time it should be picking up (Supposedly). Are you totally on your own for internships and a job? I would think that they would have more of a network or contacts or something?
Can you tell me more about getting into the program? Was it really difficult? what are they looking for? What kind of students are there? etc. Also, someone else I spoke to about the program said it wasn't as challenging as they would have expected, what has your experience been? They also said the emphasis was a little on the Edu Org side of things as apposed to business? Any truth to that?
I might take you up on the tour offer. I plan on trying to make a visit sometime this year. The fact that they changed it to 45 credits, hurts the wallet a little. Anyway, good luck with the search. I'll check back later.
